TEAM NIGERIA ARRIVE CHIANG MAI AIRPORT

Saturday 13th May, 2023, team Nigeria arrive Chiang Mai Airport Thailand, including representatives from KUCH-99 Agriculture & Seeds Ltd . The team traveled for the short term training program (Agricultural Sustainability: Train the Trainers Initiatives for Nigeria Farmers). And received a grand welcome by the staff of Maejo University International College. In the persons of Dr. Prakash Bhuyar, Mr. Olalekan Israel Aiikulola, and Miss Khanika Hongphong.

It had been a long time coming and the proposed dates of the training were moved twice. But finally all was put in place and now we are here ready to learn with the vision of Food Security in mind.

This will be the second Agro training trip our team will be making to Thailand. The first which took place in 2020 during the Covid-19 period and featured trainings on livestock of Fish and Poultry. Focusing on ways of improving on the costs of livestock feeds in Nigeria by utilizing local material resources as viable substitutes for animal feed. Practical ways to utilize local low cost raw materials to produce excellent feed for fishery, piggery, poultry, farms. Also, alternative sources of plant and animal proteins that can become sustainable substitutes to service livestock feed industry in Nigeria. Not forgetting the numerous tourisms and practical.

This year, we have new areas of agriculture on the table. The focus; Rice Farming:

  • The A to Z of Thai successful methodology  in rice farming.
  • How to cultivate all types of vegetables and fruits all year round, thereby ending seasonal Farming.
  • Turning all Agricultural wastes into soil enriching materials to sustainably keep our farms fertile and productive.

Plus other exciting programs; the visits to tourist sites, the exhibitions, the practicals, not forgetting having to taste the Thai delicacies. And we can’t wait to explore them all.
