Ideally, watermelon fruits can take between 80 and 90 days before they are mature for harvest.

The length of days it takes before watermelon ripens is dependent on factors like dry season. Watermelon fruits tend to ripen within 80 days during the dry season because of the high intensity of sunlight and 90 days and above during the rainy season. Watermelons don’t continue ripening after they are harvested, so harvesting them when they’re moderately ripe is important. It is advisable to harvest them between 85th to 90th day. They generally ripen over a two-week period, so keep your eyes on them.
